Summary

This bill defers federal law to First Nation law in the case of a relationship on a reservation. Any laws dealing with marriage, divorce, separation, death of a spouse or common-law partner, et c. will be under First Nation law if occurring on a reservation. In cases where violence has occurred, a judge may make an order. Check out the Official Summary for more.
