Summary
This bill creates two new firearm offences and provides escalating mandatory jail sentences for serious firearm offences and strengthens bail for those accused of serious weapons offences. It also gives more effective sentencing and monitoring of dangerous and high-risk offenders.
This bill also lays the groundwork for detecting and investigating drug impaired driving and strengthens the penalties for impaired driving.
It also raises the age of consent from 14 to 16 years.
